With the release of the third book in The Familiars series, The Familiars – Circle of Heroes, we are stopping by some of our favorite blogs discussing all things heroes.
Jessica asked us who is our favorite unsung book hero! Someone who others don’t acknowledge, but we think is particularly awesome.
This was certainly a fitting question given the theme of our books. Familiars are the ultimate unsung heroes, rarely acknowledged and oft times nothing more than sidekick or helper.
Andrew: Ron Weasely comes to mind. So does Samwise Gamgee. But I’d have to say Huck Finn. Alone but for a negligent drunk of a father, Huck is an outcast with no one to count on but himself. Despite his carefree living, he goes on great adventures and learns to do right.
Adam: Sunny Baudelaire from a Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket is one of my favorite unsung heroes. While Klaus and Violet have all the resources of being full grown children, brilliant smarts and ingenuity, all Sunny has to go on is her large and powerful front teeth. And boy does she certainly make the most of them. Biting and climbing her way to victory over Olaf with her massive chompers. One day, this young lady deserves her own spin-off.
