In a triple threat for the day I welcome Pat Bachorz, author of Drought to my blog! Pam is here to share some of her book picks for her character Ruby.

What books would Ruby identify with or recommend?
Ruby sure doesn’t get a lot of leisure time. I think she’d like adventure stories, ones with boldness. Perhaps some TREASURE ISLAND. Or even the NANCY DREW series; seeing a girl take charge to solve a problem would rock Ruby’s woolen socks.
Or maybe she’d prefer a story about another girl stuck in a totalarian world determined to keep her captive: THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH. And of course THE HUNGER GAMES.

Great choices Ruby and Pam! I still remember owning copious amounts of Nancy Drew books. That girl was quite adept at getting in and out of trouble…often.
