Blogger Backstage Pass: Natalie from Books, Etc!

1) Hi Natalie! Welcome to the blog! Let’s start by getting to know you. Tell us a little bit about yourself!

Hi Jessica! Firstly I just want to say thanks for selecting me as the VIP blogger this month!! Now, about me: I’m 19 years old, and I’m from Ontario, Canada. I’m headed to Queen’s University in the fall to study math and physics, and I’m really excited! I have always had a passion for reading – hence the book blog 😛 I also love to shop, watch movies, and paint my nails! I’m a big fan of Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling too. I also play the piano and guitar, and I try to sing along sometimes too, but I doubt I’m any good at that.

2) How did you find the book blogging community? What is your favorite part about running your blog?

I actually stumbled across the book blogging community while browsing through Pinterest! I was ADDICTED to that website, I swear. Anyways, I clicked on one of the links and it lead me to The Perpetual Page Turner, which I started to read and then loved! I thought about how cool it would be to start my own, and then voila! I did! My blog turns four months old this month 🙂

3) I see from your bio that you are a Harry Potter fan! It must be asked, which character is your favorite and why?

I love Harry Potter (the books first and foremost, and the movies too!) and I love this question! My favourite character is no doubt Luna Lovegood – I even have her wand! I bought it from Ollivander’s in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Florida! Anyways, I love Luna because she reminds me a lot of myself and of how I try to live my life. She is very free-spirited, doesn’t care what people say and think about her, and stands up for what she believes is right. She’s also a little wacky sometimes, and I’m definitely life that too. If she existed in real life, we would definitely be best friends!!!

4) What three books would you absolutely recommend right now?

If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch, The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna, and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo!

5) Do you have a favorite genre? Or do you read whatever strikes your fancy?

I don’t really think I have a favourite genre, but I do tend to read either contemporary romance, or fantasy/paranormal books! Normally I’m not picky, however I’m not really a fan of the New Adult genre yet… but if you have any suggestions I’ll gladly take them! Help me fall in love with New Adult everyone!

6) Any final words? 

I’m so glad that I decided to start my blog, because through it I have met a lot of people, and I’ve even made friends! Not just people I talk with occasionally on twitter, but people who I actually consider friends, and who I miss when I don’t talk to them for a while! I love the entire book-blogging community, and I wish that I had found out about this wonderful world of amazing people sooner! I love you all!!! 😀 xoxo
