BookLikes Weekly Recap (1/3/2016)
Happy Sunday, dear bookish friends!
I’m hoping that your weekend was fabulous, seeing as how the majority of you probably had a long weekend like I did. New year, new books. What’s not to love?
I thought I’d kick off the year by trying my best to tie together the two locations where most of my bookish musings go. For those of you who don’t know, BookLikes is my other home. It’s the one where I post half composed musings on in progress books. The one where I put terrible book puns. Also, the one where I review every book that doesn’t go up on here. I don’t want to bombard all of you, and so the spotlight reviews go here. Everything else goes there. I want to change that, if I can. So every week, on Sunday, I’ll post some a recap of what went up there over the last week!
Tuesday, December 29th
* Review of Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye, Issue #6
One of my BookLikes friends is a huge fan of Transformers, and gifted this issue to me so that I could meet Rung, and Whirl, two of her favorite characters. Long story short: I was hooked.
Wednesday, December 30th
* Review of Heathen, Issue #4
You’ve seen me squee over these before! Natasha Alterici is amazing. Simply amazing. If you aren’t caught up on this yet, you’re missing out! Mythology, amazing art, fantastic characters.
Thursday, December 31st
* Review of In Real Life by Jessica Love
It was a cool concept. I’m all about friendships that stem from places other than real life. I have a ton of online only friends! It just had… some issues. (3 out of 5 stars)
If you’re curious what I read in the month of December, and what I thought, here’s your chance to find out! All the books are clickable.
Saturday, January 2nd
* Review of Angela: Asgard’s Assassin, Issue #3
Angela is one of my new favorite things. I discovered though a great friend, and she’s opened the world of Marvel up for me immensely. What’s not to love about an ass kicking angel?
Sunday, January 3rd
* Review of Transformers: Robots In Disguise, Vol 1
As part of my ongoing buddy read, we’re alternating between MTMtE and this series. I have to say, this one is a lot more serious and a lot darker.
So there you have it! Hopefully you’ll find something new to read, and maybe even sign up for BookLikes if you aren’t already :). Happy reading everyone!
