It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (2/9/20)

Happy Monday lovelies! I hope that your weekend was kind to you, and that you’re energized for the week! I feel like no matter how long a weekend is, it’s never long enough, but that’s something that we just get used to, right? At the very least I hope that today treats you well.

It’s been a long time since I did a meme post on here, and I’m feeling pretty proud of doing one now. It’ll be short, since I’m still reading slowly, but let’s see how things are going!

The last book that I had the pleasure of finishing was Birdie and Me by J.M.M. Nuanez. In all fairness, I should share with you that she is my friend, and I’ve been looking forward to reading her book since it was still and inkling in her brain. However I went into this with an open mind and, since I hadn’t finished a book in ages, a bit of terror about finishing it. I shouldn’t have worried. It was sweet, poignant, and full of moments that had me teary eyed. I promise a full review is coming soon. I just need to actually sit down and hash out a review worthy of the book! You should go pre-order a copy though. Just saying ;).

NetGalley sweetly granted me the chance to read Shorefall, the second book in the Founders series! I absolutely adored reading Foundryside last year, and I’ve recommended it to everyone I know since then. So to say that I’m excited about this book is actually quite the understatement. Robert Jackson Bennett is my hero, and I can’t wait to see what happens to all of my favorite characters next. It might take me a little longer than normal to get through, but don’t you worry I’ll share my thoughts with you when I’m done!

At the same time, I’m also lovingly making my way through Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews. If you’ve been following me for any length of time you know that I LOVE Ilona Andrews. I’ve read their entire book catalog and I’ve actually had access to this book since before it came out. Alas, I went through my weird non-reading phase and it sat and sat. So I purchased the audio version to listen to at work and, lo and behold, I’m in love all over again. I missed the world of Nevada and her family. I missed the madness, and the family love. I’m so ready to see where this book takes me.

That’s it’s from me! My semester of school is winding down again, so I’m hoping to have more reading progress to share with you soon! In the meantime I’m planning on popping in here now and then to just write random things, make some bookish lists, and participate in some memes. I’m feeling good, and I’m feeling bookish.

Here’s to a great week!
