Goodbye April, and hello May!

Another month is on its way out, my friends. It always feels a bit bittersweet to me. I simultaneously feel like I did as much as I could, and that I didn’t use my time as well as I could have. The closer that it gets to the end of the year, the more apparent that feeling is. This year though, I’ve given myself a lot more grace. My last rambling post was on finding small bits of happiness, and that extends into the way I feel about the passage of time now. The more you see the small wins, the more that time doesn’t ever feel wasted. This April might not have been as intensely busy as those in the past, but I feel fulfilled. If nothing else, seeing all of my seedlings thriving is happiness enough to me.

I’ve also been making it through three to four books a month, which is right on track on with what I was hoping to read this year. I’m done with rushing through stories. I’m no longer stressed out about constantly putting out new reviews. The truth is that I have a clearer head, and review much better, when I get to take time with each book. It’s about the journey, not the destination. That’s the quote right? That’s how I feel now.

Anyway, in case you missed them, the book I finished this month are:

The Judas Robe by Larry Rodness
The Toll by Cherie Priest
Escape by Emma Eggleston
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

That last one I will have a review for some time soon! I’m rounding out the last 4 hours of it today, and I absolutely cannot wait to find out how it ends.

Let’s hope that May brings flowers, sunshine, and all kinds of happiness. Shall we?
