Bookish Spotlight: Cristina from Books and Agita
Welcome to a new post series here on Hopelessly Devoted Bibliophile! Back when I first started this blog, I used to interview other bloggers and share their content. I’ve missed doing that so much! It was a great way to get to know others who share the same passion, and give some much deserved love to amazing creators. So, it’s time to do that again! Check this space every other Saturday for a new spotlight, and click here if you’d like to sign up to be a spotlight yourself!
Her Instagram account is stylish, and features some great reads! If you’re a fan of mini reviews, there are plenty of those to enjoy. Here’s a small sampling of what you can expect if you head on over there!
Now it’s time for me to stop rambling, and let Cristina take over.
Please enjoy a short interview with her below, and don’t forget to take some time to go and visit!
Lightning round questions! Please answer with 15 words or less:
One book I would always recommend is Because I Was A Girl, an essay collection about girlhood/womanhood
If I had to pick a favorite genre it would be historical romance because history + romance = a happy girl
I would describe myself as a really emotional reader (I cry a lot)
Can you share why you decided to start a bookstagram/blog?
I have actually been blogging on and off for almost a decade, ever since my 8th grade English teacher had me set a blog up for a project and I became hooked. I discovered bookstagram before I started my blog, and initially it was a place for me to post pretty photos of books (I love the aesthetics of books as well as the stories inside), but soon I started reviewing books in my photo captions and eventually decided to go back to my blogging roots. Sometimes I struggle to keep my thoughts about a book into 2200 characters, so it ended up being a good choice.
What is your favorite part about the bookish community?
Getting book recommendations! Before booksta, I had no idea what books were out so trips to libraries and bookstores were a bit of a crapshoot and I ended up reading a lot of books I didn’t really enjoy. Since being on booksta I have found so many new favorites!
If we were to peek into your space right now, what collections (other than books of course) would we find?
I like decorating my bookshelves so I have some silk flowers, a mug of bookmarks, a punny shot glass (even though I don’t like hard liquor), and my late dog’s collar.
Where is your favorite place to read, and what absolutely needs to be there to make it feel perfect?
Honestly, I can pretty much read anywhere, but ideally with a mug of coffee.
Lastly, what is one page (bookstagram or blog) that inspires you and you would LOVE to share with others?
I can’t pick just one! There are so many people that inspire me in different ways, and I’m too much of an enneagram 2 to name them for fear that I’ll miss one, lol.
Our next spotlight will be in two weeks! Until then, happy reading.
