Yup, that’s what this post is. A bunch of utter nonsense. I wanted to post in here but I couldn’t figure what I wanted to write and so… you get this bit of rambling. Or, perhaps I could tell you what I’m reading right now? Yes, let’s do that. It feels less boring than going on about my garden plans for this weekend. Haha.
I’m in that mode again where I’m picking up many books and reading them simultaneously. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here, and it honestly feels kind of weird! Also nice, in a way. I feel more myself than I have in a very long time. I started Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover as a read with a friend, on audio. Then I picked up Flash Fire by TJ Klune because I needed something funny and MY GOD I missed that hilarious writing. I’m also reading Tonight We Rule the World by Zack Smedley, which has so far been equal parts adorable and so sad. Very on brand for Smedley. And finally, to round it all out, I’m starting Fairy Tale by Stephen King. I’ve been trying to find a day I could start that book and get totally lost in it. Today is that day.
Sometimes I think that my book tastes at any given time directly mirror my state of mind at the moment. Often I’ll read a comfort book, because things are stressful. Or I’ll read a horror book, because I’m trying to deal with some complex emotions. It’s true that right now my brain is all over the map, so maybe that’s why I’m able to pick up multiple books at once again. I’m finding little bits of myself in every single one, and I’m loving it.
