The Final Push to 2025!
It has been an absolutely lovely long weekend so far. Full of friends, family and of course entirely too much food. We zipped around to different the homes of different people, and now we’re finally cozy and warm back at home. I’m looking forward to tomorrow! Our only plans are to decorate our house for Christmas, watch movies, and drink hot cocoa. A perfectly wonderful end to a weekend, before it’s back to the grind.
On the reading front, I took The Book That Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence with me on our vacation. I actually managed to read roughly 100 pages when there was quiet time. Pretty good for a holiday weekend! So far it’s a wonderful book. The writing is gorgeous, the characters are vividly designed and the world building is absolutely stellar. This is my first Mark Lawrence book but I’m absolutely certain already that it won’t be my last. Has anyone out there read one yet?
I’ll be drafting up some of posts this month that include my favorite books of the year, books that I’m looking forward to in 2025, as well as books that I wish I’d had time to read in 2024. I used to do those kind of posts every year, and then I kind of just fell off of the habit. So I’m actually excited to work on the posts this time! I like looking back, and doing a little bit of looking forward to more bookish goodness as well. If only I could be paid to read full time, but alas!
Anyway this is just a post to let you know that I’m back from vacation! There’s a review coming on Monday, a few posts for the week, and then the year end posts shall begin. Thanks for sticking with me!
