It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (12/9/24)
Happy Monday my reader friends!
I’d love to have a happy, upbeat update for you but man I am exhausted. This part of the year has gotten harder over the last couple of years and I’m just trying to give myself as much grace as possible. I suggest that you do the same! I saw a post that said that we should end the year soft, instead of strong. Rest, recharge and get ready to tackle a new year. Sounds like more reading needs to happen in my future.
Let’s take a look at where things are this week, shall we?
Read Last Week:
Last week I finished The Sky on Fire by Jenn Lyons and MANNNNN I loved it so much. It’s very… erm… spicy at points? But the Fantasy aspect of it is super solid and I very much enjoyed the antics of our ragtag group of MCs. I also finished The Inheritance Games which you can find my review of here, and that one I didn’t love so much. Can we please just do away with unnecessary love triangles? Pretty please.
Currently Reading:
I’m still at about 70% of The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong. It’s still a super cute story, but it’s a little bit too slow at times. I’m reading it in the evening before bed. On audio, I’m listening to Bluebird Day by Megan Tady. This one was a recommendation from Book Riot and I’m adoring it so far. Even the narrator is pretty solid!
Reading Next:
While I was waiting for my library turn with The Butcher of the Forest by Premee Mohamed, I read one of their backlog titles. I am so glad that I did. The writing in that novella was stellar, and now I am so very excited to dive into this novel! I’m just waiting to finish my current reads.
That’s it for me! What are you reading this week?
