It’s Been a Slow Start

How are we feeling now that we’ve almost reached the mid-point of the month my friends? I’m feeling a little overwhelmed if I’m being honest. We’re 12 days in and I have yet to actually finish a book. Although, to be fair, it doesn’t help much that all the books I started were long. I should be done with one later today, and another late tomorrow, and so I’ll have reviews for you soon! I’m just not going to rush myself this year. We get there when we get there.
Of course it hasn’t helped at all that LA has been on fire for the past five days. I left work early due to Tuesday’s high winds, and didn’t end up going back into the office for the rest of the week. My husband and I are very lucky that we live further south, and are therefore out of the line of the fires. But I’ve been scrambling to try and help out as much as I can. I have coworkers, good work friends, and their families that I know have lost everything. So any small thing I could do, whether physically or monetarily, I’ve been trying to do. I can’t imagine the heartbreak that these people are feeling. The least I can do is help take care of the simple things like enough food, clothing and places to stay.
Which, if you have noticed, is why I didn’t post anything the remainder of the week. My brain was just too full to be able to focus on blog posts. So if you’re wondering if I’ve been sticking to my goal of writing blog posts on Saturday? No, no I have not. Haha. There’s still time though, and still hope. We might start out slow but that’s how you build a habit.
Anyway I’m rambling so I’ll end here! This week you’ll get a “Top Ten Tuesday” post, and very likely a review. What else will end up here well… your guess is as good as mine. As always though, thanks for sticking around! You keep me going.
