    Can’t Wait Wednesday (11/20/24)

Happy Wednesday friends! Is it just me, or has this week felt like it’s a million years long already. I think I’m anticipating next week and the holiday! So all I want to do is get to the pie eating and the cozy long weekend. It’ll be a great time to get some reading done! My book choice this week has an absolutely stellar cover, and sounds like something that I will enjoy immensely! In fact there’s an entire article with about this upcoming queer novel here and an interview with the lovely Gabriella Gamez. Check it out, and join…

Book Review: The Bodyguard by Katherine Center

Okay so once again it has been entirely too long since I've written a real review, and so we're going to our best with this one. I picked up The Bodyguard on a whim, since it was featured on the library's first page and oh man am I glad that I did. What caught my eye was the fact that Hannah, our MC was a female bodyguard. That had me right away. Then you add in a potential romance with a Hollywood heartthrob? Well, there was no way that I wasn't going to read this book.

Reading Goal Updates and Cozy Vibes

Ah, November. I’m not going to lie to you, my favorite holiday is (and will forever be) Christmas. So all November is to me is the month that I must endure in order to get to the part of the year where my neighborhood deems it socially acceptable for me to put up my Christmas decorations. I can already feel the vibes though! Cozy season is in full swing, and my reading bug is back in a huge way honestly. Since last I posted I managed to read a whopping 4 books in a row. Now I know that to…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (10/28/24)

Happy Monday my reader friends! Ah, it’s finally cooling down significantly here in So Cal and my cozy loving heart is happy. I just need the time change to happen so that it’s not pitch black outside when I wake up in the morning. Haha. Still it has been perfect reading weather and I’ve been doing my best to keep up my reading pace. I’ve been pretty lucky so far to only find books that have kept my interest, even if they didn’t end up being my favorites. Let’s take a look at where things are this week, shall we?…

Time Flies and Tea Saves Lives

I swear I blinked and it’s already the holiday season. It didn’t really click for me until it started getting darker earlier, and the morning temps are finally down into the 50’s. October in California is a weird beast. It’ll be 53 degrees overnight and then 87 degrees in the middle of the day. Oof. You have to figure out what outfit to wear that will allow you to be comfortable in both those temps and not have to carry around a sweater or a jacket haha. It drives me a bit nuts if I’m being honest. But this is…

    Book Blogger Hop (8/22/24)

Book Blogger Hop Happy Friday my friends! We made it! I don’t know about you, but my week was absolutely exhausting and all I’ve been thinking about is making it to the weekend. I feel like around this time every year things go absolutely bonkers on all fronts. My vacation (and quiet reading on the beach) cannot come soon enough. For now though I’ll look forward to a fun weekend with friends! Anyway, Friday means it’s time for a Book Blogger Hop as well! I really liked the question this week because it made me pause and really think about…

    Mid-Summer Feelings and Reading Update

As a teen, the writer loved summer for relaxation and fun activities. As an adult, they find it challenging due to the heat and work commute but still enjoy reading. They've set a goal of 52 books for the year, currently at 32, and are enjoying "The Gunslinger" after multiple attempts.

    Sick Day and Cozy Reading

My body and I have been battling one another to see who is stronger, and I’m honestly so tired of being continuously sick with one thing or another. Right now I’m fighting through yet another ear infection, and being extremely grateful for the existence of audio books. There’s nothing like being able to close your eyes and just rest while still hearing a story. Especially since, up until yesterday, reading a regular book was just not on the table. Haha. Thank goodness for amazing narrators. All of this made me stop to think about how important cozy reading is in…
