Fall Feelings Forever
Am I the only one who is desperately wishing for cooler weather? We had a beautiful cooldown because of hurricane weather and I absolutely adored it. Then this weekend shot right back up into the high 90’s and I am just slowly wilting. I need Fall. I need warm sweaters, hot drinks and fuzzy blankets. Bring on the drizzle and the clouds! Soup season? Yes, please. My fall feelings are in full swing. On a happy note, I’ve been picking up on the reading train. I’m up to 27 books from the last time that I checked in. I’ve found…

Book Review: Lonely Castle in the Mirror by Mizuki Tsujimura
Seven students are avoiding going to school, hiding in their darkened bedrooms, unable to face their family and friends, until the moment they discover a portal into another world that offers temporary escape from their stressful lives. Passing through a glowing mirror, they gather in a magnificent castle which becomes their playground and refuge during school hours. The students are tasked with locating a key, hidden somewhere in the castle, that will allow whoever finds it to be granted one wish. At this moment, the castle will vanish, along with all memories they may have of their adventure. If they…

Summer Vibes
Hello again lovelies! Yes, yes I know. I’ve been gone for ages. Despite my best efforts the burnout was real. To prove this point, I quite literally have only finished 21 books so far this year. To some people that may be a lot. Keep in mind though that I used to read 200+ a year. So… yeah. I’ve been slowly trimming off things that no longer suit me in an effort to get my motivation back. As you might have noticed, I cut my bookstagram loose. I also haven’t been on Twitter as much. (Especially with all the website…

Top Ten Tuesday (4/18/23)
Happy Tuesday my lovelies! It’s been quite the day so far, so this post is up later than I would have preferred, but sometimes that’s just the way it is. I haven’t had time to pre-write posts, but I am hoping to do that this weekend! For now, we make due with what we have. So let’s go! Freebie Day!*My Top Ten Favorite Stationery Shops* If there is one thing that I love at the same level as books, it’s STATIONERY. I have a nice hoard of everything from washi tape, to stamps, to waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many stickers. I journal…

Book Review: Fairy Tale by Stephen King
Legendary storyteller Stephen King goes deep into the well of his imagination in this spellbinding novel about a seventeen-year-old boy who inherits the keys to a parallel world where good and evil are at war, and the stakes could not be higher—for their world or ours. Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a hit-and-run accident when he was ten, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. Then, when…

Book Blogger Hop (4/5/23)
Oh MAN, it’s been so long since I’ve participated in one of these! Back in the day (this blog is now… 13 years old?) I used to participate in the weekly hop all the time! It’s a great way to meet new friends, and a lot of fun to read other people’s answers to the question. I can’t wait to join in again! So let’s go! This week’s question is:Do you spend your lunchtime reading? Ah, for the first time in my life I’m actually going to have to answer no to this question. Now, let me elaborate. Once upon…

Can’t Wait Wednesday (4/5/23)
Happy official Spring y’all! Or, at least it is here hahaha. I’ve been waiting for ages for the weather to get nice enough to throw open the windows all day, and we’re finally there. While the rain might come back at some point to throw off my plans, so far I’m very much enjoying the nice weather. If it stays consistent, it’ll be planting season soon too. I can’t wait! My book choice this week is one that I’ve been eyeing ever since I saw that T.J. Klune had a new book out soon! I LOVE KLUNE’S WRITING. Yes, it…

Book Review: The Language of Ghosts by Heather Fawcett
Forced into exile on an enchanted, moving island, ex-princess Noa Marchena has two missions: reclaim her family’s stolen throne and ensure that the dark powers her older brother, Julian, possesses don’t go to his head in the process. But between babysitting her annoying little sister, Mite, and keeping an eye on the cake-loving sea monster that guards the moving island, Noa has her hands full. When the siblings learn that their enemies are searching for a weapon capable of defeating Julian—whose legendary spell weaving is feared throughout the kingdom—once and for all, they vow to get to it first. To…

Hello, and happy April my friends! I’m currently at the beginning of a twelve day break from work, and it was something that I desperately needed. I’m not even going to lie. I feel like since late last year I’ve just been scurrying from item to item and not actually taking a break at all. (As you can tell from my lack of posts here.) So I’m going to use this time to pre-write some posts for all you, finish the books I’ve been reading forever (I’m looking at you Hell Bent), and just rest. I actually am writing this…
