2012 Standalone Reading Challenge – Joining up!
Time for challenge number two! I’m a huge fan of series, but it’s nice every now and then to read a book that is amazing enough to just stand alone. No cliffhangers. No shaking your fist at the world. Just a plain old good book that reminds you why you started reading in the first place. The Challenge: Read 15 stand alone books that are released in 2012. Here’s what I’m planning on reading (for now): 1. Fracture by Megan Miranda 2. Struck by Jennifer Bosworth 3. Don’t Breathe A Word by Holly Cupala 4. Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen 5.…

I need this challenge!
I am signing up for the 2012 TBR Pile Reading Challenge because I desperately need to get through all those books sitting (and staring accusingly at me) on my shelves! I always mean to get to them, and then I get a new shiny ARC…and…well….I’m sorry books. Welcome to 2012 TBR PILE Reading Challenge!!! We all have those books. We buy them, win them, they’re gifted to us.. Then we put them up on a bookshelf and there they stay, collecting dust, waiting for the time when we’ll finally decide to pick them up.. Join us on a quest to…

I’ve had this song stuck in my head…
For about the last three days. I’m not sure if that’s good, or bad, or if my brain is turning to mush. It could be all three. All I DO know is that you all now are subjected to it. HA! Also I love Maroon 5. That is all.

Want a good scare? Try these!
It’s about that time! Horror movies are a passion of mine, and there’s nothing I love more than the month of October. I’m not the type to stick to only the big budget type of films. No matter what it is, if it has screams, I’m in! Just in time for Halloween, here are some of my favorites that you may or may not have heard of. Enjoy and happy screaming! Trick ‘R Treat (2007) Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have…

Warning: Sappiness ahead. Things I’ve realized part 2.
The Phantom Tollbooth first sparked my imagination as a reader. Up until then I had liked books, but after falling into Norton Juster’s world I loved them. Ate them up. Weekly trips to the library saw me bringing home the max 15 books we were allowed to check out at one time, and reading fervently until they were due back. I was officially a bibliophile. Tried and true. From age 8 on, it was a never-ending obsession of mine, and I unashamedly admitted it to everyone. Then I found the book blogging world and decided to try my hand at becoming a…

Ramblings from the sickbed.
No posts last two days = me in bed with a cold, acting like a 5 year old. Yes, I get cranky when I’m sick. I admit it. On the bright side I’ll get a lot of reading done this weekend! I’m armed with meds, books, my laptop and snacks. I’m thinking tomorrow will be a “stay in bed all day” kind of day. What do you all think? Also a quick shout out to my new followers! HI! *waves madly* Nice to kind of sort of meet you, at least in picture form. Feel free to leave comments that…

A call for suggestions.
Hey all! I’m looking for a specific kind of book and I thought why not ask the most bookish people I know? We are all such a huge fountain of knowledge, so I thought maybe you could help me. I am looking for a Middle Grade novel that is already published, hopefully readily available at the library, that deals with tolerance. Any ideas? We have a unit for the 5th graders in a few weeks on tolerance, and I’d love to have something to read for them that will really hit home. I’m open to suggestions! Shoot them my way…

A random post.
I had to share this because it made me giggle like mad. It isn’t important, it may not even be funny to you, but it made me crack up! If you like Jersey Shore….. well, I apologize. New post going up tomorrow! I’m working on getting things scheduled now so there won’t be anymore random bouts of radio silence. Hello to my new followers! Welcome and you rock in advance! Also, don’t forget about the Spooky Swap my friends. It’s gonna be a blast. Until tomorrow, love, hugs and books.
