    Excitement!

If you could see me right now, you would know that I have a HUGE smile on my face :). I am in slight shock! This morning I signed up for NetGalley after hearing about it on Lifehacker and seeing it mentioned on a few other blogs. It looked promising! You can request e-galleys of books (.pdf files, e-books, etc.) for review and the list on there is growing!  (NetGalley will be getting it’s own dedicated post Friday, so if you have comments or questions on it come back then for sure!) Anyhow, I happened to come upon Kersten Hamilton’s…

How reviewing has made me grow as a reader!

So to those of you who have been reading my blog this last week, you know I am fairly new at this whole book blogging thing. I saw so many amazing blogs around me, discussing books, giving them away, sharing the love, and I decided that I wanted to be a part of that too! I couldn’t believe how many new books I discovered just from following these blogs. (See my journey into YA here if you want to know how that happened.) My two loves, books…and yarn. Right before that, I had set a goal for myself for 2010.…

My journey into YA and how it relates to this blog!

Since this blog is really new, I thought I’d share a little more about myself with my readers! This post is all about my journey into Young Adult literature. Let me begin by saying that I am 25 years old. Do I feel old? No. However I do realize that to many people, I am not longer considered to fall into the “Young Adult” category. It’s funny really. Ever since I first picked up a YA novel I have been smitten. To me, the best part about this fiction category is that it is so fun to read and crosses…

    The Infamous Terry Pratchett

A pretty good looking guy is he not? I know that many of the people who I follow read solely YA books and have likely never picked up a Terry Pratchett novel. That’s why I need to bring this fabulous author to your attention! Terry Pratchett’s novels are such a treat. He has a snarky, intelligent sense of humor that always makes me speed through his books. In fact, his books are the type of books that you read, crack up laughing, and then look around sadly because there is no one around you to share the awesome part you…

    Welcome to my new blog.

Hello there friends! If you happen to stumble by here before I announce it, this is my new book blog! It was getting too confusing on my other blog and I just decided to delete it and get rid of it entirely. I am slowly moving my reviews and book related posts over here, and then my other blog will be gone forever…sad but true. Please feel free to friend me! I will be reviewing books, doing author posts, and sharing all things book related here!

    An affinity for Neil Gaiman.

Ah yes…Neil Gaiman. One of my favorite authors of all time, and a looker if I do say so myself! Look at those eyes…. Also, I am a sucker for his accent. Yes, sadly, I fall into the category of girls smitten with accents. I suppose it comes from not having one that I can genuinely hear myself. But what I love most about Neil, is his writing! He writes novels that make me think, shiver, laugh, cringe, and so much more. Today I am going to share with you my top three favorite novels from him of all time,…
